Our location
Since 1980 MHS Electronics has been privileged to occupy an exceptional location in the Erdre valley to the north east of the city of Nantes and the Loire river. Fully conscious of the responsibility associated with this site , MHS Electronics has always considered it’s impact on the environment as a priority.
From our beginnings until now
MHS Electronics has always been concerned by environmental protection and the improvement of our performance in this sector. In the early days by localized efforts and actions, then from 1998 onwards by developing a global policy in view of achieving an Environment Quality Certification. This effort was rewarded in May 2000 by the award of the ISO 14001 label. The following table retraces the principal steps in this development.

Site Visit
The policy of MHS Electronics has always been to limit the risk of environmental impact inherent in its activity, be it in the domain of water treatment, air, waste management and on to the reduction of water and energy use.
Water treatment
Our industrial waste water is treated on-site by a neutralization station before discharge into the city waste water network.
Our station is equipped with the means to treat fluoride waste.
To improve constantly our performance and results of our station, we have set up human, financial and technical resources to achieve our goals.
Air-borne waste treatment
Before being rejected, waste air used in the fabrication area is treated by six air scrubbers. Waste air quality is regularly verified by an independent organization and its results are very lower than the legal limits.
Waste management
We always want to improve our waste stream separation system, set up in 1993.
The value-recovery of our waste has improved from 60% to 70% and over the same period landfill discharge has been reduced from 18% to 7%.
Resource reduction
Concerning water usage, some initiatives led us to a reduction of 50% over 8 years.
Concerning electrical power, we have over the same period obtained a gain of 30% due, here again, to a determined effort.
Outside agencies
We attach lots of importance to build relationships with universities, schools and local institutions through technical partnerships and/or common projects (Photvoltaics, Corporate Transport Plan and an energy project for the Chantrerie site).
ISO 14001
The ISO 14001 standard specifies the requirement to set up an Environmental Management System. The standard is based on the methodology PDCA (Plan – Do – Act – Check). It is designed to produce continual improvement.
The Environment Policy sets out the Management’s unreserved commitment towards continuous improvement.
As a result of this the site has been certified for six years by the BVQI organization.
